Renzo Luisi is Professor of Organic Chemistry at the University of Bari “A. Moro” – Italy. He graduated summa cum laude in Chemistry and Pharmaceutical Technology at the University of Bari (Italy) in 1996 and received the PhD in Chemical Sciences in 2000. He was appointed Associate Professor of Organic Chemistry in 2005 and Full Professor in 2020. The main research interests rely on organometallic chemistry (mainly organolithium chemistry), Boron, Fluorine and Sulfur chemistry, synthesis and reactivity of small heterocycles, asymmetric synthesis, dynamic NMR spectroscopy. Recently, his research interests shifted towards sustainability in modern synthesis by using flow chemistry and enabling technologies. He published more than 150 papers in peer-reviewed international journals, several book chapters, and reviews. In 2022 he was the recipient of the award “Organic Chemistry and Methodological Aspects” by the Division of Organic Chemistry – Italian Chemical Society. He is the International Coordinator of the Horizon Europe Project SusPharma - Merging Sustainable and Digital Chemical Technologies for The Development of Greener-By-Design Pharmaceuticals.
